For example, if you have the Maschine Full Jazz Kit loaded, then left click the symbol adjacent to the left of the Full Jazz Kit name and choose for Pattern Drag Mode either Audio or Midi. However when you have a pattern loaded, then you can drag and drop either a midi file or an audio file directly into a Mixcraft virtual instrument or audio track. You can select File/Export when you have a pattern loaded and export an audio sample file (wav), which can then be put into a Mixcraft audio track as far as I know, you can not directly export a midi file from the Mikro File menu. One more thing, I am using the Mikro default setting as Greg recommended and it seems to be doing the job so far.
The Native Instruments video tutorials and manuals are not sufficient, at least for me, because they presume too much prior knowledge about small steps that are required to make things work (the manuals can be used for reference purposes). I recommend the four instructional DVDs about Mikro available from Sample Kings (see examples on YouTube) for those wanting to learn how to use all the features of Mikro. I'm still very much a beginner with Mikro but I am enjoying using the capabilities that it offers for very fine control of rhythmic tracks and the vast range of instrumental sounds that it offers. I can also open Mikro as a VSTi plug within Mixcraft and enter midi virtual tracks with the Mikro controller just as I do with my Yamaha PSR-S910 keyboard. I've been able to drag and drop both midi and audio Mikro files into Mixcraft. I've now been studying Maschine Mikro for several weeks and can report that it will work with Mixcraft.
